Did Jesus really walk out of the grave? That is question facing Will Chambers. This story was very entertaining. A little slow at times, but worth reading. I think my favorite part was when Will, as a lawyer, looks at the resurrection account as presented in the 4 gospels. It gave a fresh perspective to the age old argument that there are discrepancies in the resurrection story.
Haley has lost so much in her life, the victim of a violent crime, lost her mother to cancer, and now her best friend and mentor is dead, murdered. Where was God through all the bad? Like many of us, that’s the burning question that Haley has to ask. Even being raised in a the home of a pastor doesn’t remove the questions. This story tells of a young lady’s journey to deal with a painful past so she may survive an even more painful future.
A good story with some fun twist. There were times I wanted to slap Haley, but alas, can’t do to characters in a story. I will probably read the second one in the series.
I had read a lot of mixed reviews on this book and after reading it I understand. If you looking for a typical Peretti book with a strong line of redemption throughout, you won’t find it in this book. What you will find is a story that will entertain you and thrill you and might even scare you a little. If you are offended by a “scary thriller” then you won’t enjoy the story, but if you like a well written novel then this is worth the read.
