What I’ve Been Reading

This week I finished the three books I was reading last week.  Some basic thoughts about these books.

Stranded by Dani Pettrey

The ending of this story was really good. I love how things turned out with Gage. That was a very touching part of the story. If you’ve not read any of the series I would suggest reading at least book two. Gage and Darcy first meet in the second book. Understanding how things start with them will help book three make more sense.  Of course, I’m a big fan of reading a series from book one to current, but that’s just me!

Poison Town by Creston Mapes

I did get this finished before the February 1st and was able to post my review. This is a book two in a series and I didn’t read the first book. The author did a great job of giving enough backstory that I didn’t feel lost. Of course, he did give enough backstory that I don’t feel a strong desire to go back and read book one. BUT I would read future books in this series.

Butterfly Palace by Colleen Coble

I use to avoid historical fiction, didn’t think I’d enjoy it. However, thanks to the American Christian Fiction Writer’s book club I started to reading historical fiction and found I like it! And I’ve loved Colleen Coble since Distance Echoes from her Aloha Reef series. (I bought the book because it had a dolphin on the cover!) This book was a great mixture of romance and suspense with the backdrop of the early 1900’s. I’ll be reviewing it and giving away a copy of it starting this Wednesday.

This is the first book I’ve read by John Faubion and if this book is any indication of his abilities it won’t be my last. This story deals with the topic of social media at a whole new level. This company creates for people a virtual friend. A friend that will interact with you through email, Facebook, and even video chat. Of course, what starts as cool concept has a dark side. I should be finishing it the next day or so. The review is due Tuesday! I’ll be giving this book away as well. Unless something goes terribly wrong in the last 150 pages it will come highly recommended.

Just getting ready to start this one. I’ll tell you more about it next week.

Two great give aways coming this week!

Have a blessed week!

I love to read, especially mystery books. Though in the past couple of years I’ve been a part of the ACFW Book Club and have found some wonderful writers. It’s been fun to interact with authors.

Welcome! I appreciate your thoughts!
