Sticks and Stones – Susan Meissner

Rachel Flynn, county prosecutor, mother to an 8 month old little girl, wife to an artist, and trustee of a 25 year old secret.

This was the first book I read by Susan Meissner, probably not my last. This was the second book in the Rachel Flynn series and it made me crazy that I haven’t read the first. There was enough references back to the first story that I won’t be able to read it without knowing the outcome.

The characters were well developed each bringing a unique perspective to the story. Without giving away too much of the story, Rachel receives a letter indicating a body would be found in the area. The body was found it was determined to be that of a boy that was a bully. From there we deal with what makes a child be so cruel to those around them and how our society deals with both the abuser and the abused.

An enjoyable story with good reminders that we need to pay attention to what is going on with our kids.

I love to read, especially mystery books. Though in the past couple of years I've been a part of the ACFW Book Club and have found some wonderful writers. It's been fun to interact with authors.

Welcome! I appreciate your thoughts!
