I’m pretty much working on the same things I was last week. With my final semester in full swing it is tough to have time for pleasure reading. But here’s an update:
In reading through the Bible in chronological order I’m now into Deuteronomy chapter 7. Â Deuteronomy gives us the final words of Moses. Â Israel really didn’t have a hard job, for just as Jesus did Moses summed up the law in chapter 6 verse 5: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your mind and all your strength. Â The Shema which every true Jew prays each day.

Last night in class we discussed the first two chapters of The Grace of God. Others struggled with some of the same things I did with this book, while some thought “no big deal.”  The bottom line is regardless of the things from chapter one that bothered me about this book, chapter two is magnification.  In chapter two the author tells the story of Abram who as we know later became Abraham. Over the next two weeks we read chapters 3 and 4.

Deadlock still hasn’t “grabbed” me yet. Â It’s not a bad book, it’s well written and I have a feeling it’s going to have a powerful message as the storyline develops. Â It just hasn’t sucked me in yet.

Blessings all!
