Bread of AngelsBread of Angels by Tessa Afshar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Although I’m not a big fan of Biblical fiction I really did enjoy this story.

The author did a great job weaving the little we know about Lydia from Acts with a realistic story of what her life could have been like. She also brought out the pain of loss and fear and the impact it can have in our lives.

Most important she told the story of redemption and God’s healing power.

She also displayed Paul and Silas is a great way. She made them more “real” by showing them making humorous comments and even a little sarcasm.

Her author notes listed what things were based on facts versus the things she created completely from her imagination.

I look forward to reading more by this author.
