Review: A Necessary Deception

A Necessary DeceptionA Necessary Deception by Laurie Alice Eakes
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

First time I’ve read this author and all in all I enjoyed the story. I’m not much of an English history buff especially when it came to their war with France, but I did enjoy the spy aspect of this story and didn’t quite see the ending coming.

Christien was absolutely wonderful and I loved Lydia’s spunk and determination in a very male driven society. More than once though I would have loved to see someone take Honore over their knee, but I’m sure that will add to the wonder of her story.

The author did provide some nice suspense and kept me wondering who was really behind it all.

There were a few times where I felt lost in the story. But that didn’t take much from the story itself.

If you enjoy historical fiction with spies, traitors, and a Frenchman, then this will be a good read.
