On the Run – Lorena McCourtney

59563: On the Run, Ivy Malone Mystery Series #3 On the Run, Ivy Malone Mystery Series #3

By Lorena McCourtney / Baker

Super senior sleuth Ivy Malone is spunkier than Miss Marple, with a curiosity that just won’t quit. That inquisitiveness has gotten her into plenty of trouble, including murder, mayhem, and a place on a mini-Mafia hit list.

Now Ivy’s headed across country with a stray cat ans God as her only companions. But just when she thinks she’s safe, two dead bodies turn up–discovered by Ivy, of course.

My review

I love Ivy! She always makes me think of my husband’s Aunt Ilene. A wonderful woman with a tremendous amount of spunk and a love for life.

Back to Ivy. In this book, Ivy picks up a partner, Abeline, a young lady who had just ran away from an abusive husband. Mac also makes another appearance the love seems to be in the air.

This was another great whodunit story that left me guessing until the end. Ivy discovers two dead bodies and can’t quite accept the polices’ conclusion of murder/suicide. She keeps digging at the truth until she tumbles into a mountain of toilet paper.

This third installment of four leaves us worrying about our dynamic duo. Not only is Ivy still running from the Braxtons but Abeline has her own hunter. I hopefully will have time to read the fourth book now that I’ve started my grad class.
