It’s been a busy summer but I’ve read some really good books. One I’ll be sharing about that releases next Tuesday is Robert Whitlow’s newest book, A House Divided. At first I was afraid I wasn’t going to like it based on the topic. But the direction he took the book and the focus, it was really good.
On Monday I finished Nightshade (Discarded Heroes Series, Book 1) by Ronie Kendig. Really good! Lots of action and tension in her stories. You can often pick up the first book of this series for free. Check it out.
I also started the latest book in the Gates of Heaven series by C.S. Lakin. The Hidden Kingdom (The Gates of Heaven Series). I was first introduce to this author when I reviewed a contemporary fiction book she wrote for Zondervan, Someone to Blame: A Novel. When I did the review I misspelled her name. She emailed me thanking me for the review and asked me to fix her name. This started a series of emails and she soon asked me if I would be willing to review her upcoming Fantasy Novel, The Map Across Time (The Gates of Heaven Series Book 2). After I said yes, I kept thinking “WHAT HAVE I DONE? I’m going to HATE THIS!” But I can honestly tell you I didn’t. I’ve loved almost all the books in this series. There was one that didn’t captivate me, but they’ve been so enjoyable. They stand alone yet are subtly woven together. Once the series is complete, I want to go back and reread them. (And I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to go back and reread a series!)
The last book I want to talk about is the one that was delivered to my Kindle last night. Book 10 in the Squeaky Clean Mysteries by Christy Barritt.Dust and Obey (Squeaky Clean Mysteries Book 10) releases TODAY!!! This has been a great series. Gabby St. Clair the main character has been fun to watch. In book one she’s not a Christian and we get to see her come to faith and how she is growing in her understanding of Christ. I definitely recommend reading this series in order. The newest book is only $ 0.99, not sure how long that will last. You can often pick up the Kindle books on sale.
Sorry for such a long post, but I’ve been reading a lot and enjoying what I’m reading. I’m also looking to give away a lot of my paperbacks. I don’t have room for all of them. Watch for a post where I will list what I’m getting rid of. It will be a first come first serve opportunity, I’m just asking for you to pay for the media postage to send the book.
Be blessed and feel free to share what you’ve been reading in the comments. And if you like, share if you would recommend it and to whom you’d recommend it.
