About this Book

**Jake Knew Something Was Wrong.
But He Never Guessed How Wrong.

A relaxing day of rock climbing takes a disturbing turn when Kayden McKenna’s route brings her face-to-face with a dead climber. Is it a terrible accident or something darker? When the case is handed to overburdened sheriff Landon Grainger, he turns to Jake Westin for help. With Jake’s past now revealed, he’s ready to use his talent for investigation again–but he could never prepare for where the mystery will take him.

Kayden’s climbing expertise soon leads her and Jake to the realization that the death was no accident. And worse, it seems the killer is onto them. When strange things begin happening in Yancey, Jake is terrified that once again his world may put someone he loves in danger. But the truth is far worse than he could ever imagine.

The Interview

I am honored to feature an interview with Dani Pettrey via Google Hangout. It was great to meet her and learn a little more about The Alaskan Courage Series:

My Review

I really love this series! With each book the gives a story that is intriguing and entertaining. I love watching the characters develop.

In this book the focus is on Jake and Kayden. In the previous book we learned Jake’s secret which causes Kayden’s cold heart toward him to melt. In this story we get to watch the development of their relationship as they attempt to determine why a climber died during a climb.

This book kept me guessing in who was behind everything that was happening. I also expected certain outcomes and resolutions, but the author had different things in mind. This made the story even better than I expected.

If you’ve enjoyed the other books in the series you will love this one. If you are new to the author I do recommend reading at least the previous story to have a better understanding of how the relationship started with Jake and Kayden. This is a series that really builds on the previous book.
