Scoop – Rene Gutteridge

I am finding I REALLY like this author. Many authors have the same basic twist to their stories. But this one is so different than the other Gutteridge stories I’ve read. (The Storm Trilogy and Ghost Rider)

You find very likeable and unlikeable characters in the story. You also see the impact one’s honest childlike faith can bring to the world around them. Reminds us that we really shouldn’t be embarassed to be a radical Christian.

Suspicion Of Guilt (Love Inspired) – Tracey V. Bateman

Second in the Mahoney Sisters Trilogy is about Denni Mahoney former Social Worker now house mother to 4 adult girls from the foster care system. Denni’s dream is to have homes for girls once they are out of the foster care system. The only problem is someone seems to be trying to sabotage her efforts. This is a good story that will keep you guessing tell the end. It’s also a reminder that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of us: none of us were an accident.

Black Sands: Book Two in the Aloha Reef Series (Aloha Reef)

Book Two in the Aloha Reef Series focused on Mano Ona, the Navy Seal. In this story we see the struggle of true dependency on God versus our tendency to trust our own strength in the name of God. Mano believes he might have killed his best friend, Tomi, but doesn’t know for sure because he doesn’t remember. Mano isn’t willing to admit his weakness to his family or anyone else. Mano has to learn to about God’s strength in our weaknesses.
